Armed Robbery

To provide a practical programme to deter potential robbers, to establish awareness of safety procedures and behaviour prior to, during and following a robbery and to minimise the effects of an armed robbery on staff.
 

Key Elements

  • Support the company’s existing armed robbery response guidelines.
  • Provide staff with the knowledge to reduce the physical and psychological risk to staff and customers in the event of an armed robbery.
  • Assist the Police with positive information about the crime and preserve evidence and the crime scene.

The initial training programme will consist of the following sessions

  • Armed robbery crime trends. 
  • Ways of reducing the likelihood of armed robbery.
  • The psychology of crime.
  • Maximise safety of staff and customers during an armed robbery.
  • Firearm and weapon identification.
  • How the business and staff can cope with the effects of Post Traumatic Stress.
  • Helping Police solve the crime - safely identify suspects and robbers.
  • Helping Police solve the crime - preserve the crime scene.

Refresher training carried out on a six monthly basis will consist of the following sessions

  • Armed Robbery Crime Trends.
  • Review of initial training.
  • Selected topic/s from initial training programme.
