Lingkar Mega Kuningan Kav area at about 1245 pm local time, when a suspected suicide bomber drove his Toyota Kangi into the drop-off area of the JW Marriott Hotel and detonated the bomb. Jemaah Islamiah (a South East link to Al Qaieda) had just executed a planned terrorist attack on the Marriott Hotel. The bomber exploited a loophole in hotel security to perform this task. The explosion destroyed the main lobby area and shattered windows throughout the 33- story complex. The bombing claimed the lives of 11 personnel and injured more than 150 others. C4 Group Ltd was asked to perform an investigation of the bombing. Upon completion of the investigation, C4 identified a need for training of hotel staff on bomb and terrorist awareness in Indonesia. Since then, in the heart of Jakarta and around the world, C4 has been training hotel security and general staff on bomb awareness, suicide bombers, and other relevant issues.
