C4 has taken the initiative in developing both a refresher course and a professional development programme that allows Conflict management Instructors to meet both NZQA and best practice standards.
COMPLY WITH PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AND IMPROVE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS BY ATTENDING A C4 CONFLICT MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE.
CONFLICT MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTOR REFRESHER COURSE.
This course is designed to provide refresh training for the two Conflict Management unit standards:
27360 - Conflict Management - theory
27361 - Conflict Management - practical
NZQA and the SKILLS Organisation requires Conflict Management Instructors to attend a refresher every two years to maintain registration. A compliance certificate is awarded from this course.
DURATION: 1 day (8 hours)
Participants must currently be registered with SKILLS as certified Conflict Management Instructors.

CONTROL AND RESTRAINT.
This course meets NZ industry standards as well as Australian and British industry requirements and includes:
Introduction to violence in the workplace
Conflict management review
Defuse and de-escalation
Basic breakaway techniques
Criminal Law and arrest/restraint
Health & Safety / Human Rights legislation
Communication skills (Non-violent crisis intervention)
Non-pain compliant methods
Teamwork 2, 3 or 4 man teams
Restraint techniques / Positional asphyxia risks
Pain compliance methods of control
Controlled take down
Incident Reporting and de-briefing
Unit standards 21737 and 21738 (Use of Force) will be awarded upon successful completion of this programme.
DURATION: 2 days (16 hours)
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
