NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN SECURITY LEVEL 6

 

The National Diploma in Security Level 6 is intended for professional security personnel who work in roles that may include:

  • Security Risk Managers

  • Corporate Managers of security functions

  • Departmental security officers

  • Security Consultants

  • Sales role requiring security survey or risk assessment skills

  • Investigative work in corporate environment 

  • Insurance assessors who assess security risks

The qualification comprises a compulsory and an elective section to provide flexibility and allow application in a variety of industry contexts.

The compulsory section of the qualification covers the following topics:

  • Interpretation and application of law

  • Risk assessment

  • Surveys

  • Development of operational plans and policy

  • Development of operational practice and procedure

The elective section of the qualification allows candidates to select appropriate skills for their role and includes:

  • Management of security principles, practices and procedure

  • Security interviews

  • Application of security techniques, hardware and systems

  • Critical Incident Management

  • Security investigations

The National Diploma in Security Level 6 may lead to degree programmes in security and risk management or related disciplines.

C4 Group Ltd has consent to assess from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under Section 252 of the Education Act 1989 for all unit standards within this qualification.

COURSE COSTS:  $6500 (incl GST)

 Student Loans are not currently available.

PRE-REQUISITES:

 

There are no pre-requisites for this course however relevant security experience would be an advantage. Due to the level an interview is required. Please note C4 does not currently enrol international students.

 

COURSE DELIVERY:

This is mainly a distance programme with the exception of the following modules which are classroom based and delivered over 2 days):

  • Coordinated Incident Management System 2 (CIMS 2)

  • Coordinated Incident Management System 4 (CIMS 4)

DURATION:

As this is a 125 credit programme the qualification generally takes around 12 months to complete.
